my name is Kinga and I'm new on this site. Unfortunately I do not speak Slovak so I will post my message in English.
I'm looking for my husband's ancestors that came to America from Slovakia. I am in particular interested in Pal Vetreczin and Maria Klaczik ( I think that is how her last name was spelled; unfortunately many last names were changed due to spelling errors, etc). They married around 1904, were both from Pinkovce (Sobrance). Pal immigrated to United States in 1904, his wife and infant son a year later. I do not have any information about Pal's parents, in case of Maria, names of her parent (Janos and Maria Yencho, again spelling. I suspect that last name is something entirely different but have no idea from which form it originated) were given on her marriage certificate with her second husband. I know from the ships' manifests that Pal was born around 1876 (also, his death certificate from 1914 lists his date of birth as 29 of June 1876) and he traveled to USA in 1904 with his 15 year old brother Mihaly. When it comes to Maria, she was listed as 21 year old when she traveled in 1905.The family here is of the opinion that both Pal and Maria were roman catholic. At least their children were baptized as such however I did find records fro Klaczik in reformed Christian church in Pinkovce via familysearch.org. Unfortunately the key record which I'm pursuing is the marriage record for Pal Vetreczin and Maria Klaczik (Klacik/Klocik/Klocek, etc) can not be found through Mormon site as the marriage happened around 1904. I would be very grateful for any suggestion where to look for records after 1900, perhaps someone here is familiar with the area and could help?
Thank you very much.
Greetings,

Kinga Vnuk
